WebMail is not only a plain e-mail browser, but also, it can use the
capabilities of the hosting WWW browser. It is possible to send
and receive e-mail messages with special features, such as:
- "Live" WWW links in the body of the message.
- HTML sections with images. (The term "HTML" refers to the WWW
hypertext-document format.)
Some examples:
WebMail will show URL-like strings (eg. http://www.crs4.it/)
in the e-mail text as active links that can be selected.
If the e-mail message contains sections such as the following:
<HTML>
<center>
<img align=middle src="http://www.crs4.it/img/logocrs4.gif" alt="">
<H2><a href="http://www.crs4.it/HTML/crs4.html">CRS4</a>
<P>
Centro di Ricerca, Sviluppo e Studi Superiori in
<a href="http://www.crs4.it/~zip/sardinia/sardinia.html">Sardegna</a>
<P>
Center for Advanced Studies, Research and Development in
<a href="http://www.crs4.it/~zip/sardinia/sardinia.html">Sardinia</a>
</H2>
</center>
</HTML>
WebMail will show them as:
Centro di Ricerca, Sviluppo e Studi Superiori in
Sardegna
Center for Advanced Studies, Research and Development in Sardinia
Rather nice, isn't it?
